Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Survey Operations Manager

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Lagos & Ibadan (with occasional remote work requirements).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage the weekly fieldwork calendar, overseeing all stages from programming and testing to final callback closure.
  • Assign interviewer workloads, define supervisory spans, and set daily completion targets to optimize team performance.
  • Monitor daily progress against quotas, ensuring adherence to targets by district, sex, age, and urban-rural residence.
  • Proactively manage operational incidents, including addressing low response rates, absenteeism, high refusal patterns, and delayed callbacks.
  • Coordinate effectively with the Sampling & Data Manager, QA Officer, and Analyst to ensure seamless data flow and quality.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of field protocols, staff rosters, and incident resolutions for operational continuity and auditability.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance interviewer productivity and data quality.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment for field staff.

Requirements & Qualifications


  • University degree or equivalent relevant professional background.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience managing survey operations, research fieldwork, or call-centre teams.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and proven staff management capability.
  • Fluency in both English and Yoruba, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in developing and implementing fieldwork plans and protocols.
  • Proficiency in data management and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
