Job Title: Questionnaire & Translation Specialist
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Lagos & Ibadan (with occasional remote work requirements).
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, refine, and meticulously review questionnaire questions for clarity, neutrality, and suitability for spoken administration.
- Translate and perform rigorous back-translations of questionnaires between English and Yoruba, ensuring linguistic fidelity and conceptual equivalence.
- Standardize the spoken rendering of politically sensitive or conceptually complex terms to ensure consistent understanding across diverse respondent groups.
- Actively support pilot testing phases, analyzing and addressing comprehension problems, respondent fatigue, or ambiguities identified.
- Maintain and manage a controlled question bank, encompassing core modules, rotating elements, and event-specific questionnaires.
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure the cultural appropriateness and local relevance of all survey instruments.
